What Google reviewers say about Bang Rak Spa & Massage
was brought here on our 2nd day in Bangkok by a taxi driver that offered to show us around and had "friends that would give us good deals" Although I thought the price a bit high booked in for later in the week. Once I had the chance to check local prices it appeared to be really overpriced. Opted for 2 one hr massages for me and my wife as we had already paid the deposit (2000 Bhat) and thought it unlikely we would receive a refund. Massage was ok..but afterwards the ladies requested tips of $300-$400 Bhat each which given the almost prices seemed exorbitant. The most concerning thing however is that I had put our sling bags between the Chairs and cupboard will out of the way and we the won't need to be touched. During the massage that had been moved and lay open on on top on the chairs so obviously they'd been gone though, We aren't sure if anything was taken but it was still unnerving and I think anyone using this service should beware.
DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!! Expensive and the massage is bad. 1500 baht for 2hrs massages per person. We had a friendly cab driver and asked him to recommend a massage parlor near our hotel and he brought us there. Expected it to be good as it was recommended by a local. They charge 1500 Baht per person for a 2-hour massage. And the massage was BAD! The environment/infrastructure was bad too. Went for a full body massage, she was massaging my feet, then my hand and went for my FACE! What!? My partner went for a foot massage and the masseuse dozed off while massaging. We had never had such a bad experience in Bangkok before. This is the first and would be our last visiting this place.
We were recommended to this spa by a tuk-tuk driver. After reading similar reviews, it seems they work in collaboration with each other. While the spa setting is nice, the massages are significantly overpriced at 1000 THB, especially when compared to the 300 THB we paid at other places. The massage itself was incredibly firm, and despite requesting a softer touch, my preference was not acknowledged. Additionally, the staff were very insistent on receiving a tip and explicitly stated they wanted 100 THB. When we offered a tip of 40 THB per person, they refused to accept it. Overall, I found this to be an uncomfortable and overpriced tourist trap. I would not recommend.
