What Google reviewers say about Erb Spa
The best massage in Bangkok. I am a frequent traveller to Thailand and am accustomed to the variety of massages from high end hotels to platforms on beaches. Location: a 2 minute walk to the right of Sheraton Riverside in Bang Rak. Across the river (take a river taxi/shuttle) from IconSiam and the Peninsula hotel, on the same side as the Mandarin Oriental and Shangri-la. Price: More than the typical high street. Converted into other currencies it is very reasonable for the quality of the environment and the service. 1 hour foot massage: approx 100dirhams, $38 Canadian. I also had a 2 hour massage with Gua Sha facial which cost approx 300dirhams, $115 Canadian. It was the best experience I’ve had in a spa. Quality: The attention to detail is superb. The welcoming staff, calm atmosphere, beautiful decor, welcome tea and foot wash, provide the perfect introduction to the service you are about to experience. Private rooms with private bathrooms, silk robes, slippers and a bell to let the masseuse know you are ready. My masseuse was knowledgeable and skilled with understanding when and where pressure was needed. I have scar tissue on my knees from surgeries and I can honestly say I had more mobility after she was done. It hurt and was somewhat uncomfortable at times but 100% worth the gained movement afterwards. I was more mobile after my first foot massage than I was after several sessions of physio. I had a total of 3 massages over 4 days, I enjoyed it that much. My masseuse was Nancy, my friend had Annie. We both highly recommended.
Having been an Erb customer since they were just a shop selling massage oils, with a stamp collection program, and now becoming a spa customer, I feel like I'm quite late to the party considering I've been in the spa industry for so long. Today, I tried their Gua Sha massage at the CTW branch and was very disappointed with the massage itself, the front-of-house service, and the lack of attention to detail before, during, and after the massage. As a frequent spa customer (visiting almost every week), I feel that unless Erb's management tries their services themselves and assumes they're in the high-end segment, it will be difficult to succeed. Also, the oils are the same old ones with the same scents; the new ones aren't as impressive. It seems they're focusing too much on cost management. I'm offering these suggestions for improvement. I love this Thai brand and hope they can do better in the future. Keep up the good work!
I need to update, we were there recently, but the money is it not worth. It seems they changed the staff, and you feel not very pampered anymore..They dont cover one leg while massaging the other leg (this is standard in every massage salon) and they dont ask if its too cold or too hot. For this value you can expect way more attention! And they reduced the time by themselfes, we booked 1,5 hours, but it was only 75 mins. Sorry but not sorry You will feel really pampered here. We had the eastern voyage, feels like a four hand massage and you will be treated very well. They wash your feet before and you will get a bathrobe. I can highly recommend and the staff is super lovely.
