I actually had a massage appointment at another place nearby that day, but I couldn't cancel at the last minute, so I had to look for a place nearby and unexpectedly found this one next to the Emsphere shopping center. From the outside, the shop is very unassuming, even resembling a small shop selling fragrances or herbal products. If you weren't specifically looking for a massage place, you might just walk right in. Upon entering, they offer a welcome tea to help you relax. Then, you're asked to fill out a massage plan and indicate which areas you'd like to focus on using an iPad. There's an English interface, which is quite friendly to foreign tourists. The whole process is quite efficient. After filling out the form, you change into slippers, and the staff will take you upstairs to the massage area via elevator. I was assigned a double room this time. The space was quite spacious, and the lighting and artwork in the room created a very comfortable atmosphere, unlike the overly bright or cramped feeling of typical massage parlors. They also offer herbal tea before the massage, which has a mild and pleasant flavor. The massage bed was clean, and the towels were neatly arranged, making the overall environment quite relaxing. The massage itself is a combination of Thai and relaxation techniques, and the pressure can be adjusted beforehand. I specifically noted on the iPad that I needed more attention in my shoulders and neck, and the masseuse noticed, massaging my shoulders and back several times during the session with consistent pressure. Overall, my body felt stretched and relaxed after the massage. The price is actually quite reasonable for a location in downtown Bangkok near the Emsphere, more affordable than many tourist massage parlors. Showering and hair dryer rentals are available afterward, which is quite convenient for someone who's been shopping all day. Overall, it's a low-key but enjoyable massage parlor. If I happen to be shopping nearby and want to relax, I would definitely go back.
On the last day of my trip to Bangkok, I had a 90-minute Thai massage + herbal ball treatment. With Japanese management, a Japanese website, and services tailored to Japanese customers such as a "pointing-and-writing Thai fan," and a prime location in Phrom Phong with a high price tag, I visited with high expectations for a top-notch experience. However, the therapist who attended to me that day didn't speak Japanese or English. I had written "mainly back and head" on the form beforehand and verbally requested "gentle foot massage," but this was misunderstood as "mainly foot massage," resulting in a massage that was almost entirely foot-focused. The pressure was also too strong; despite repeatedly asking "please softly," it didn't improve, and I ended up with muscle soreness. Furthermore, I wasn't given the "Thai fan" I had been looking forward to. While I appreciated the therapist's earnest efforts, honestly, aside from the luxurious facilities, I didn't feel much difference compared to cheaper massage parlors in the city. Perhaps it's a place to enjoy the atmosphere, but based on this experience, I couldn't see the value in paying several times the price. That's a shame.
I came here 10 years ago because I was so satisfied with another Asia Hub branch, but it didn't live up to my expectations. I got the signature 3-hour scrub, oil massage, and herbal ball for 1,300 baht. First, I got a Thai massage at a clean local place near my hotel. It was about 630 baht for 2 hours (with a 30% discount in the morning). The quality of the masseuses there and here seems to be similar. It's really hit or miss. I asked for medium to strong pressure, but my hands were so weak that I asked for just a little more pressure, and she suddenly used her elbows to make it incredibly painful. She seemed to have trouble controlling her pressure. When I was moving from my left leg to my right, I suddenly felt like I didn't have any pressure at all, so I asked for a little more, but it hurt so much... ㅠㅠ I have to adjust the pressure with my hands. ㅠㅠ After I finished, the staff outside were all looking at their phones, and the service wasn't what it used to be. I don't think I'll be going here anymore.
