What Google reviewers say about Tipprapa Thai Massage : ทิพย์ประภา นวดแผนไทย
I had a 60-minute massage here. I wish I could give it a better review, since I like to support small businesses. The 2 stars are for the friendly woman who greeted me (owner?) and the little touches like the water and banana that were offered. Both are positives. However, they gave me the worst Thai massage I have ever had (and I have had many). The lady that started my massage seemed competent enough, but she was replaced by another lady after a few minutes. This was in itself rather strange. The 2nd lady clearly did not know how to do a proper massage. She had no technique, and kept on shifting from 1 body part to another and back. She would do manoeuvres on one limb that she would not do on the other limb. The worst part was when she stood on the backs of my thighs and she clearly could not balance well, because at one point she had all her weight on one of my thighs and was struggling to find her position. She was a large woman and heavier than me. I was afraid she was going to injure me and was about to just stop the massage. Thankfully, it was close to the end and she finished off with a strange massage to my face. Another issue was that she had long nails and I found a scratch on my neck when I got to the hotel. It seems my experience is unusual, because the other reviews here are very positive. I am guessing my masseuse was not part of the regular staff and was called in because they were busy. If you are considering a massage here, I suggest making sure that you get their experienced staff. I personally will not return.
I didn't want to write this review. If I was going to stay in Bangkok for a long time, this is a massage parlour that I want to keep to myself. In addition, I could see that there are not a few regulars for local customers and long-term travelers while receiving the massage. Many people went back because they didn't make a reservation. This is a real local massage shop. I've been to a lot of famous massage shops, but none of them were 100% satisfied with the massage itself. But it was different here. From the first touch, I felt her inner workings, and after the massage, I felt refreshed. It was a perfect balance between strength and weakness control and positioning, not a normal massage shop routine. If you want a luxury service, go somewhere else expensive shop. But if you only want a real massage, I highly recommend this place.
My wife and I enjoyed wonderful massages here during our recent trip to Bangkok. Our first massage was so good that we came back again on our last full day. We were guests at the Siri Ratchadamnoen Bangkok Hotel next door to the spa - also a great hotel. My wife had the traditional Thai body treatment while I had the foot massage. We highly recommend this spa, staff are very experienced and friendly like all Thai people you meet. With so many temples, museums and sites to see in such a big city, one can do with a massage at the end of the day. They close early maybe 8pm so get a massage mid-day.
