Old Bangkok at its densest. Traditional Thai massage shops here are long-established and cheap, and the MRT finally made the area easy to reach.

"The best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Thailand. Everything about this hotel is five stars. First, the rooms made me feel just like I was staying in China in the 1930s. There is so much charm, character, art, and fascinating and unique design designed elements to each room. The bed is incredibly comfy, and the hot water in the showers and the bathtub was very very hot. The staff was also incredibly helpful and very accommodating. We went and tried their spa, which is apparently one of the best spas in all of Thailand, and the service was superb, you could tell that the massage therapist really were experts in their field. But I must talk about the food in the live entertainment, the food here is a mix of Chinese in Thailand, classic dishes, and every single dish was sublime. The flavors were amazing and we are still dreaming about every dish we ate. I would highly recommend the table side Peking Duk. Every night there was live music in the bar and the restaurant. We stayed here for four nights and everything was just perfect. It’s also located centrally in Chinatown, you literally will not find a better hotel in Chinatown, and you certainly will not find a better hotel in Bangkok. 10 out of 10 I would stay here again and again."

"I brought my dad in for a massage and booked one for myself too. We both had the 90 minute aroma massage and it was such a lovely, relaxing experience. The space was calm and welcoming, and everything felt very professional. My massage with Kun Oy คุณอ้อย was amazing, and my dad really enjoyed his massage with Kun Sauy คุณสวย. We both left feeling refreshed and relaxed. Both therapists were both wonderful and made our experience so enjoyable. Exceptional customer service. We will definitely come back! Highly recommend! Special thanks to Kuhn Bas คุณบาส for the information and for preparing everything ahead of time to make the experience smooth for us. The receptionists were so warm and welcoming, which made a great first impression."

"Because I was staying at The Salil Hotel, I planned to have a top-notch spa treatment at Harnn. The Chao Phraya River Fantasy Tour [150 minutes] cost a little over RM6,000 on Klook, while the official website price was RM7,200++ (it seems hotels offer a 15% or 10% discount, so Klook might be a bit cheaper). The first part of the tour was a bubble bath with essential oils in the jacuzzi. The aroma and the spa effects of the jacuzzi were both excellent. Because we arrived early, the soaking time seemed to be a little longer, and I almost fell asleep in the tub. Next was an exfoliating massage with jasmine-scented rice bran oil extract. A bit strangely, the masseuse skipped the front of my right hand at the end, telling me to get up and rinse it off (because Harnn believes in Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, I was wondering if there was some special significance to the right hand, since the back of my right hand was skipped during the subsequent massage). Anyway, the combination of the essential oil massage and the Himalayan rock salt herbal ball massage was incredibly comfortable. I kept going through a cycle of almost falling asleep/seemingly snoring/being woken up by the hot rock salt herbal ball. This rock salt herbal ball is special; it's dry and heated by rocks, so it feels warmer than traditional herbal balls. The effect is probably due to the added far-infrared rays from the Himalayan rock salt! The final dessert was a pot of tea and traditional Thai snacks (the kind that smell like candles, which are plentiful in Chiang Mai). If you buy related products on the spot, you get a 20% discount if you buy two items (which is more than Thann's discount, probably because I know the original prices are already high!). When she wrote her review on a tablet, I wrote that everything was great, but it was significantly more expensive than comparable treatments. Besides Thann, which I've been to in the past few years, I've also been to Divana Spa, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort Spa, etc., and the prices weren't this outrageous. Usually, anything over six or seven thousand is only reasonable if it's a half-day treatment."

"Randomly picked a massage nearby and wow, beautiful decor, super kind staff and I did the deep tissue aromatherapy massage - my masseuse was clearly strong enough to send me to heaven but she adjusted where needed. She also used specific stretching techniques different to what I usually experience in Thai massages. Actually gonna return again tomorrow for a good leg massage! Highly recommend!"

"Our 90-minute Thai massage was not a good experience despite the nice appearance and welcome drinks. My partner's experience was unprofessional and physically painful from start to finish. His therapist was muttering under her breath in Thai the entire time which felt very rude and unprofessional. At one point, she was so reckless that she flung his arm into the side table during the massage, causing him pain. He ended the massage before it was completed and told her to leave. Both therapists completely ignored the focus areas we requested on the iPad, which were our backs and feet. They focused on the calves and thighs? Very frustrating. There's also this weird part where they spray your hands with some oil and ask you to smell it and rub it in your neck. Totally unnecessary. Your therapists need training in professionalism and in following the intake form from your customers. Regretfully, our experience was not worth the premium we paid, THB 1000 each, and there are better value spas out there"

"Relief from like eons of back pain from WFH. Take this with a grain of salt this was like my first massage ever. It felt like they guy massaging me knew acupuncture and pressure points, with the perfect pressure applied it relieved a lot of the tension and pain. It’s not perfect, it didn’t fix my back or anything but it was a welcome relief. Worth it, planning on going again tomorrow."

"Stumped upon this spa place as I was looking for a foot massage around Chinatown. Reviews seems mostly good and decided to give it a try. Wow it didn’t disappoint. In fact when I walked in the decor and vibe, totally my vibe, and love it. Booked myself a one hour foot massage and didn’t expect this nice setup and decor. I would def be back for a full body massage or join one of the workshops. The whole place smells really good. Masseur also did a good job for me. Sad that I am leaving Chinatown if not I’ll be back again! Thanks for taking me last minute (I got there at 9pm and took the very last slot 🤭)"

"Capsule Tea Bar "Rapture Capsule Tea" has recently opened in a classic historic building on Songwad Road. Located in an old commercial building with a European-Chinese architectural blend, painted in a buttery yellow with contrasting green wooden window frames, the shop occupies two rooms on the second floor of the Thann store on Songwad Road. Inside, the spacious space boasts high ceilings, also painted in the same buttery yellow as the exterior, and is decorated in a modern Chinese style with dark brown wooden furniture, perfect for a relaxing tea-drinking experience. The shop serves tea brewed from three types of tea capsules: Floral, Matcha, and Fruity, resulting in three unique menu items: The Star: floral tea & peach (135 baht) / The World: Matcha: Madagascar vanilla, matcha jelly (155 baht) / The Sun: fruity tea & passion fruit (135 baht). All drinks are light, easy to drink, and refreshing, and each comes with chewy jelly in various flavors. Additionally, there are dessert menus to enjoy with tea, such as Matcha Tiramisu (185 baht) and Pistachio brownie (185 baht), which have just the right amount of sweetness, and Rspture Bonbon, which are capsule-shaped chocolates with various fillings."

"An absolutely amazing massage experience! We opted for the 60-minute Foot Massage, and it couldn't have been better. Every inch of our feet and legs was treated with great care and professionalism. The therapists were highly skilled, dedicated, and made sure we felt completely relaxed throughout the session. The best part? Just when we thought our 60 minutes were over—and honestly, we didn't want it to end—they pleasantly surprised us with an additional 10-minute neck, shoulder, and head massage, complimentary! It was the perfect finishing touch and truly exceeded our expectations. Excellent service, relaxing atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended! If you're looking for one of the best massage experiences, this is the place to visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"was brought here on our 2nd day in Bangkok by a taxi driver that offered to show us around and had "friends that would give us good deals" Although I thought the price a bit high booked in for later in the week. Once I had the chance to check local prices it appeared to be really overpriced. Opted for 2 one hr massages for me and my wife as we had already paid the deposit (2000 Bhat) and thought it unlikely we would receive a refund. Massage was ok..but afterwards the ladies requested tips of $300-$400 Bhat each which given the almost prices seemed exorbitant. The most concerning thing however is that I had put our sling bags between the Chairs and cupboard will out of the way and we the won't need to be touched. During the massage that had been moved and lay open on on top on the chairs so obviously they'd been gone though, We aren't sure if anything was taken but it was still unnerving and I think anyone using this service should beware."

"This is a highly recommended shop. The therapist, Poom, was very skilled at massage and seemed to have extensive knowledge of skeletal adjustment and pain relief. Within an hour, I felt like my vision had become clearer, and I immediately felt the effects. Also, my frozen shoulder symptoms improved considerably, and I was surprised that I could lift my arm right then and there. I truly recommend it!"

"the only words i have are oh my god. This was by far one of the best massages i’ve had not only in thailand but in my life. Me and my wife were in need of a nice oil body rub because we’ve been walking around like crazy and yet this was the perfect spot to come to. I know the price is higher than what u may typically see but it speaks volumes. well worth any penny spent. We will definitely be coming back and i would recommend it to anyone 10/10 experience"

"Highly recommend this authentic Thai massage salon! 🇹🇭✨ If you want a real traditional Thai atmosphere without unnecessary luxury, but with truly professional massage therapists - this is the perfect place. My massage therapist was Nang, and she was amazing. I had a lot of muscle tension, especially in my back, and after the massage I felt so much better and deeply relaxed. The massage costs only 300 baht, which is an excellent price for such quality. The whole staff was friendly, kind, and welcoming. I sincerely wish your business prosperity, many happy clients, happiness, and good luck. I am from Ukraine, and I also want to thank Thailand for the kindness and warmth. During the difficult time of war in my country, I can stay in this beautiful country surrounded by such kind people. Thank you again very much. 🇺🇦❤️🇹🇭"

"I had a wonderful experience at The Absolute Massage Branch 2. The shop is very clean, peaceful, and professionally managed. The therapists are highly skilled, friendly, and made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. The massage was excellent and really helped relieve my muscle tension and stress. After the session, I felt relaxed, refreshed, and much healthier. The prices are reasonable, and the service is definitely worth it. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a high-quality massage for health and relaxation. I will definitely come back again when I visit Thailand."

"The shop is located on a main road, without a particularly eye-catching sign. The interior is clean and retro-style. The massage I received from a slightly plump auntie was very comfortable; the pressure was excellent and all the points were accurately targeted (I have a relatively high pain tolerance). Even when I felt pain or noticed her reaction, she adjusted her technique immediately, preventing me from overreacting and just touching me! I've had many massages in Thailand, and this one is truly number one! 🥇 There's also a female masseuse who speaks good English, so communication was smooth and easy overall!"

"Spending 3 last nights of our holiday in Bangkok in Dear Sunday -- and I cannot emphasize much how glad we are. - Room is super clean (daily housekeeping is available too) and comfy bed, - Facilities and amenities offerred is so spoiling (projector in the room and complete stuff in the kitchen, and extra delicious snacks on festival!), - Location is in very nice neighborhood (foodcourt + 7eleven is just 2minutes walking, couple of minutes driving to chinatown, around 10minutes ride to ICONSIAM, also easy access for cars so getting grab drivers are easy too), - Management is responsive. - They cater our special request for breakfast very well To summarize, very recommended place to stay and we will definitely come back to stay here in our next Bangkok holiday 🫶"

"One day I got an hour and a half oil massage, which was not bad at all and pleasant. I went back for a foot massage, which was really bad, which is a shame. When you're tired at the end of the day, you don't have to take on more clients, so I didn't go back. It hurts people's livelihoods, so I didn't want to get up in the middle. My daughter got the same massage from someone else and enjoyed it. It's a real lottery."

"Travelled across the world and am so happy I found this place. Both ladies who treated me were amazing. So much so that I came back for a facial and another 2 hour massage. I felt like jello when I stood up and so relaxed. The ladies here are fabulous! If you are in Bangkok and have some time I would highly recommend coming here! I feel incredible ❤️ Thank you from the Canadian ❤️"
